Refined Farm Wedding in Minnesota

Lis Simon Bride Bianca wore a customized PETRA gown that beautifully complemented the soft yellow, white, and green blooms of her bouquet. At Legacy Hill Farm, the couple exchanged vows beneath the open sky, surrounded by sweeping views of lush greenery. Their cozy reception, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows, was bathed in natural light—creating the most romantic setting to celebrate their love.

THE LOVE STORY

Nic and Bianca’s love story began at the University of Minnesota, where they met during their very first week of college. As fate would have it, they lived just down the hall from each other in their freshman dorms. By September, they were spending time together regularly, and by December 2017, they had made their relationship official. “We’ve been together ever since - you could say he’s my college sweetheart!”

THE PROPOSAL

September 1st, 2023

Over Labor Day weekend, Nic and Bianca planned a trip to Oregon to visit Nic’s older brother. On Friday, they set out to hike the stunning Columbia River Gorge. After making their way to a breathtaking lookout point with views of the Columbia River and the Washington state border, Nic suggested taking a photo of Bianca as she admired the scenery. But when she turned around, she found Nic down on one knee, ready to propose. “To say I was surprised is an understatement”.

THE DRESS

Customized PETRA

Bianca started looking for her wedding dress in March 2024. Even though the big day was still a year away, her sister and maid-of-honor was visiting, so she booked an appointment at Finery Bridal Chic in Rochester, MN. She had always loved square necklines but was open to trying different styles.

She tried on several dresses she liked, but none felt quite right. After going through their first picks, she took one more walk around the store and spotted the Petra Dress by Lis Simon. “I fell in love with the fabric and the ladies at the bridal shop told me that I would be able to make customizations to the dress”.

Bianca chose to keep the square neckline she’d always dreamed of, added a bit of fabric to the bodice, and opted for a simpler strap design. “And that was that! It only took one bridal shop appointment, and I am so unbelievably happy with how everything turned out!”

WEDDING & RECEPTION

May 17, 2025 — Legacy Hill Farm, Welch, MN

Despite the chilly weather, Nic and Bianca’s reception was full of warmth, energy, and joy. The venue offered a stunning setting—lush landscapes, a beautiful fountain, and a Pavilion with floor-to-ceiling windows that created the feeling of an outdoor wedding while keeping guests cozy and comfortable inside.

They were surrounded by their closest friends, including their freshman year roommates who had been there since the very beginning of their love story, along with their supportive families.

“The food was amazing, the speeches warmed our hearts, and of course we got everyone on the dance floor!”

FAVOURITE MOMENTS

Bianca and her dad surprised everyone with a Father-Daughter hip-hop dance. They began slow dancing to “Always Be My Baby” by Mathew V, but halfway through, the DJ switched to “Lose Control” by Missy Elliott. Their bridal party quickly joined in, and that’s how the dancing celebration kicked off!

One of Bianca’s favorite moments was reading their vows. Their officiant, who is one of Nic and Bianca’s best friends, made the ceremony especially meaningful with his heartfelt words. Bianca also loved dancing, especially near the end of the night. The final song, “We Are Young” by fun. featuring Janelle Monae, had everyone singing along loudly—”Core memory for sure!”

Bianca got her wedding inspiration from Pinterest and TikTok, using ideas she found to help bring her vision to life.

HONEYMOON

Bianca and Nic chose the Virgin Islands as the destination for their honeymoon, enjoying a beautiful and relaxing getaway after their wedding.
